Zero Project Conference Begins Streaming Tomorrow

The Zero Project was established with the goal of working for a world with zero barriers. Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday February 18th, more than 1,000 participants will attend the Zero Project Conference. The in-person conference at the United Nations Office at Vienna is an invitation-only event, but live and on-demand content will be streamed accessibly via the conference platform and the Zero Project’s YouTube channel.

The conference will bring together innovators, policy makers, business leaders, practitioners, and other experts from around the world. Topics on the agenda include emerging trends, key areas for disability inclusion, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Crisis Response. The key criteria for discussion are innovation, impact, and scalability. 

Assistive Technology Conference Recordings Now Available

ATIA 2026 Conference Banner, stating that the event is live January 29 through 31, and recordings are available through April 30th.

The Assistive Technology Industry Association 2026 Conference was held last month in Florida. For those of us in Delaware who were unable to attend, or missed the live stream, the content is still available online.

The recordings include sessions with industry thought leaders, and updates on the latest assistive tech developments from representatives from Apple, Google, and Microsoft among other companies. More than a hundred total recorded sessions are now available and will remain online through the end of April.

Upcoming Accessibility Events

February 18: State Council for Persons with Disabilities Policy and Law Committee Meeting (10:30am, Margaret M. O’Neill Building, 410 Federal St, Dover DE 19901)
The Policy & Law Committee analyzes and promotes state, federal and local legislation, regulations, programs and policies to effectively meet the needs of persons with disabilities in Delaware.

February 18 – 20: Zero Project Conference 2026

February 23: State Council for Persons with Disabilities Executive Committee Meeting (1pm, Margaret M. O’Neill Building, 410 Federal St, Dover DE 19901
The Executive Committee shall manage the affairs of SCPD between its meetings, direct the administrative, membership and budget duties for the SCPD full Council, and provide information and recommendations, as needed, to the full Council.


March 2: State Council for Persons with Disabilities Brain Injury Committee Meeting (2pm ONLINE)
The Brain Injury Committee works to improve the lives of Delawareans with brain injury & their families by promoting coordination on all state programs, services, & plans, reviewing state policies, plans, programs, and activities to ensure that they meet the needs of persons with brain injuries. This committee provides the Governor, General Assembly, policymakers, & members of the public with analyses, recommendations, & proposals on state, & local legislation, regulations & policies.

March 10: Employment First Oversight Commission Meeting (10am, Margaret M. O’Neill Building, 410 Federal St, Dover DE 19901
This Commission is responsible for ensuring that state agencies promote and implement the Employment First Act so that the first option for people with disabilities is an opportunity for meaningful and competitive employment in fully integrated work settings.

DTI Accessibility Training Session Recordings Available

In case you missed the recent Level Access training sessions, DTI is posting recordings of those sessions. This will also be useful if you DID attend, but would like to review the material as a reference.

Here are the four sessions available:

Accessibility Testing – Visual Analysis
This session focuses on manual accessibility testing techniques performed through visual analysis, including low vision and zoom considerations, color and contrast, images, headings, and links.

Accessibility Testing – Keyboard and Automated
This session covers manual testing techniques using keyboard navigation and automated tools, including focus order, operability, avoiding keyboard traps, changes on user input, hidden content, focus management, and language considerations.

Accessibility Testing – Screen Readers
This session focuses on manual accessibility testing using screen readers, with emphasis on keyboard interaction, focus behavior, operability, user input changes, hidden content, and language considerations as experienced by assistive technology users.

Hands-on Accessibility Testing Workshop
This interactive workshop allows participants to apply testing techniques to real-world projects in small groups. Attendees will identify accessibility defects, develop remediation recommendations, and practice reporting and prioritizing findings for their teams.

These sessions are recommended for developers, testers, designers, content owners, and staff involved in accessibility remediation, validation, or quality assurance.
