Important Update to the Public Meeting Calendar!
Posted on April 16, 2026
The GIC is excited to introduce a helpful new feature to the Public Meeting Calendar (PMC).
This update is designed to make managing meeting documents faster, easier, and more accessible than ever before.
Coming soon, the PMC will support text-only agendas and meeting minutes in addition to file uploads.
Whether you are an agency web editor, admin, or a meeting coordinator, this will simplify your workflow.

Effortless Content Creation with the New Text Editor
The standout feature is the new text-only editor, which allows users to create agendas and minutes directly within the app.
Instead of relying solely on uploading PDF files, you can now simply click the plus symbol to “Create” under the Agenda or Minutes columns.

This feature is incredibly flexible; you can type directly into the box or copy and paste text from Microsoft Word or other text documents.

Once you review your content, hitting “Publish” immediately makes the information available as plain text on the Public Meeting Calendar website.
Enhanced Accessibility for All Users
A major benefit of this update is improved accessibility. While the PMC app still accepts PDF documents, the “Text-Only” versions are inherently more compatible with assistive technologies like screen readers.
By providing meeting details in this format, your agency ensures that all members of the public can easily access vital meeting information without needing to download or navigate complex PDF files.
If you need to make a correction, you can simply click “Edit” to open the text editor again. Once updated, a confirmation message—”Agenda updated successfully”—will appear, giving you peace of mind that the latest version is live.

What you need to know:
- You can now enter agendas and minutes as text directly in the calendar.
- PDF uploads are still allowed, but they must meet accessibility standards.
- We strongly encourage all calendar authors to begin using the text-entry option whenever possible.
Need help with PDFs?
If you plan to continue uploading PDFs, we recommend taking the PDF accessibility training offered by DTI to ensure your documents meet required standards.
This update is part of Delaware’s broader effort to make public information accessible to everyone. We appreciate your partnership in making this transition successful.
