Accessibility Countdown:
100 Days
(3 months, 10 days)
until Accessibility Deadline (4/24/26)
100 Days Until Accessibility Deadline!!

Wait- what?!
It’s true: We’ve been counting it down since this newsletter began last year, and now we’ve reached the one-hundred-day-out mark on the April 24, 2026 deadline set by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
That’s when the Department of Justice’s Title II update takes effect for state and local governments serving more than 50,000 people. Websites of municipalities serving fewer than 50,000 people have until April of 2027 to be fully compliant.
In our blog, we’ve looked into the potential consequences of missing this deadline.
We’ll also reiterate here, that this deadline pertains to Department of Justice action only; private citizens or groups can take legal action at any time if they feel their rights are being denied.
What is YOUR agency’s plan for the next 100 days?

A final reminder that milestones like today’s 100 Days from the ADA deadline are useful to measure what’s realistic given the timeline, and how best to apply resources toward the effort.

The countdown to the federal deadline isn’t just about compliance; it’s about commitment. Whether you are well on your way or taking your first steps today, remember that every effort you make removes a barrier for someone in our community.
We have 100 days to bridge the gap, and the path forward begins with the actions we take right now. Let’s work together to meet this goal!
