The Government Information Center, working with the Department of Technology and Information (DTI) and with private sector partners, is helping to lead state agencies into the world of eGovernment, by helping connect agencies with partners and ideas to develop innovative eGovernment applications to save time and money for both citizens and state agencies.
An updated and improved Hunting and Trapping Registration System, designed to work on mobile devices as well as larger computer screens, will help Delaware hunters and trappers to register for required licenses and registrations and to report wildlife harvests. Because not all hunters and trappers use smartphones or computers, the new system offers the option of calling and toll-free number (1-855-DELHUNT) and speaking with a live person for assistance. The new Hunting and Trapping Registration System was designed using a mobile-first strategy and taking advantage of Delaware’s “common look and feel” for state agency websites.
Delaware Joining Forces is a new online searchable database of public and private organizations that provide services to Delaware military veterans and their families. Service providers create an account on the directory through which they can post, and update, service profiles which include vital information about the types of service they provide and how veterans can access those services. Delaware Joining Forces features links to Employment Services, Housing Services, Medical Services, and Education Services, among others. It is searchable by geographic location and type of service offered, and also offers quick links to important state and federal veterans’ agencies.
A new online Public Integrity Reporting System, mandated by the General Assembly, which gives lobbyists and public officials a site to submit required reports, and adds new functions, including the ability to report lobbying activity tied to specific legislation and state initiatives. Using the new site, any member of the public can see which lobbyists are engaged on each piece of legislation, as well as being able to view lobbyist client lists and financial disclosures. The application was developed with a mobile-first approach in order to optimize viewing on cell phones and tablet devices.
A new, modern Public Meeting Calendar that lists public meetings, hearings and workshops of state agencies. The new calendar, which replaced a system that was in place for eight years, supports Delaware’s drive for greater efficiency and cost savings while retaining and expanding public services and transparency, both online and through mobile channels. The new calendar features a modern interface, consistent with the look and feel of the state’s web portal. It shows meetings listed by day, by week, by month or by state agency. The system includes a full search capability, meeting histories, and the ability to track changes to meetings over time. Each meeting listing features detailed information about the meeting, a map to the meeting location, and the ability for users to download meeting information directly to their personal calendars. The system also serves agendas and minutes for public meetings.
